Friday enlisted on 9 June 1915 and was in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, Private SE/9451. He was discharged on 21 January 1919. He was awarded the Silver War Badge [awarded to service personnel who were honorably discharged from the military due to wounds or sickness during the Great War]. Friday was on the 1918 Absent Voters List for in North Lopham at The Green - 3919; Bowell , Friday; Green; 9451 Pte., A.V.C. He died circa 1972 and was buried on 29 September 1972
